I’m not going to elaborate more on why people are starting to move onto natural-based deodorants, considering there’s ample article about that on the internet. One thing for sure, this type of deodorants are looking better than ever not like the ones you see in Pinterest showing homemade DIY deodorant recipes.
And it works too.
The all-natural alternative can certainly be something that you can consider to use as part of your skincare routine and it won’t matter much if you tend to sweat a lot as there’s even a natural deodorant that targets the issue.
Let’s have a look of all-natural deos that your armpits can use.
1. Freedom Natural Aluminum-Free, Non-Toxic Deodorant (Lavender, Mint, Unscented)
The backstory of this deodorant is Freedom Natural is created by Ira Kaganovsky Green after three of her friends diagnosed with breast cancer and from there, she created deodorants that are free from aluminum and parabens – two main suspects that are thought to be dangerous to the skin.
At first glance, Freedom Natural is like your average deodorant, although the overall packaging is all about white, clean, and crisp with labels are made clear to differentiate the fragrance. What I love about the product is it’s the kind that you can swipe underarms instead of scooping it from jars.
The fragrance is formulated from essential oil but rests assured they’re diluted enough so it’s unlikely for you to an adverse reaction if any. Since its made from baking soda and kaolin clay (the good ingredients common in DIY deodorant recipes), be wary if you’re wearing dark colors as it can leave a white residue at the end of the day.
And keep in mind that it’s not anti-perspirant so you’ll still get sweaty but at least there’s none of the smell that you want to keep it off – which in my opinion, this deodorant work especially after we test it out after a heavy workout.
Overall, a good product that you can consider for purchase. Comes in Lavender Citrus, Bergamot Mint, Frankincense Peach, Amber, and Unscented.
2. Rosy Pits Mini Deodorant Alcohol Free
Rosy Pits Mini Deodorant Alcohol Free is sure smelled good as it looks – the packaging is eye-catching that you’d be proud to show to others that you’re ‘going for green’ for your armpits, along with 13000 of other in their waiting list.
At a first glance, the product smelling quite nice upon opening it up, and thankfully while you can really smell the fragrance it’s at least not cloying to the notes – hints of rose, floral notes, herbs, and musk. What I love the most is coconut oil in the formula as they’re anti-fungal that works to neutralize bacteria that’s causing you the smell, along with vitamin E and green tea.
A quick swipe would cover the potential BO even after strenuous activity and surprisingly it keeps the pits dry, thanks to the cornstarch (although be warned that they won’t do a good job as much as regular antiperspirant deodorants, but at least you won’t be leaking buckets).
Overall, we love this deodorant that it’s certainly a good deal. Considering the 13,000 on the waiting list, we agree that this deodorant works.
3. Malin + Goetz Deodorant, Eucalyptus, 2.6 Fl Oz
A clear stick deodorant that won’t leave you the whitish residue, is the major point that we noticed from Malin + Goetz Deodorant. And we love how the product applies to the skin — quite smooth and steady for even application — and it absorbs quickly too, considering there are no parabens, waxes, and silicones in the formula.
What’s more impressive that even heavy activities are no match for this deodorant as it keeps sweaty arms in check. As for the smell, the initial application produces a nice whiff (in this case, we tested eucalyptus) but at the end of the day, the scent is pretty much gone – no biggie, though as it’s a deodorant, not a perfume.
Our verdict? A good deodorant to consider if you spend a lot on heavy activities or outdoors.
4. Farmacy Freshen Up All-Natural Deodorant – 1.7 Oz
Minty-looking deodorant with minty smell truly caught our attention. Farmacy Freshen Up All-Natural Deodorant is a lovely product that we didn’t hesitate to use to keep the BO and sweat in check thanks to key ingredients such as moringa to purify and detox the pits (handy especially if you’ve been using regular deos for so long), papaya to brighten the underarms, kaolin clay to absorb the sweat and tea tree oil to kill bacteria.
In short, everything the armpit needs, this deodorant got you covered from initial application right up to it starts to taper off, around 6 hours after application (for mild activities with no sweat in sight).
An all-around deodorant that you can use, Farmacy Freshen Up All-Natural Deodorant is definitely a kind of product that you can rely onto.
– Tea Tree Oil: Helps neutralize odors.
5. Dr. Hauschka Rose Deodorant, 1.7 Fluid Ounce by Dr. Hauschka
A roll-on deo that’s so creamy and soft for the skin (yes, this one looking so similar like your regular deodorant that we have to doublecheck the bottle to see if it’s a truly natural deodorant – it is). Dr. Hauschka Rose Deodorant smells divine with rose notes and refreshing sage scent. Applying the product feels dreamy and what we love the most that it won’t leave any marks to your clothes (good feature especially for anyone that frequently wears dark-colored clothes).
Still, while the product is superb in keeping BO in check, the sweat part is not so much as it doesn’t focus on that so you might want to skip this deodorant if you plan to workouts or other heavy-duty activities. If you plan to stay indoors or working in an office, give this product a go!
6. Pitrok Crystal Natural Deodorant Stick 100g by Pitrok
Okay, this one is different than the rest of deodorant reviewed in this list, as Pitrok Crystal Natural Deodorant Stick is a crystal mineral salt deodorant – a rock hard product instead creamy formula like the others. Hence, for the application you need to dampen the product (or your armpits) first or you’ll risk dragging the product on the skin.
the good thing with this type of deodorant is it contained only ammonium alone and none of the others especially the dangerous chemicals that we want to avoid in the first place.
The key with mineral salt-based deodorant is you need to apply it right after the shower to reduce the chances for the bacteria to create unpleasant odors – a slight downside if you plan to use deodorants while on the go. Other than that, you can simply place the product in the bathroom and apply it after shower/bath and the underarms are covered.
