If you’re planning (or currently) on working out regularly, you might want to consider a good workout shoe, as they are designed and work to work with your feet during the routine, far better than a regular shoe would. Used correctly and accordingly to the type of workouts you’re doing, not only your workout performance will be significantly improved, but your feet health will be taken care of in the long run.
After all, you’re going to use the legs on most of your workout routines, might as well as finding the perfect pair of workout shoes for that.
It’s no brainer that to a good fit is a good pair; you need to also consider the traction of shoes as well. The base will give you the right amount of friction while keeping up with quick, sudden movements of the activity (such as basketball and sprinting, for example) and preventing you from slipping.
A good pair of workout shoes should also are designed to have a good air circulation; it’ll keep the sweat and smell away, as well as preventing the shoe from growing moldy or creating a breeding ground of bacteria to live in. Yikes!
For some additional guide, you need to also consider to purchase the right shoe, depending on the main activity you’re planning to do. The different activity requires different pressure points and movement pattern so the shoes are created accordingly as well. Choosing the wrong type will only cause your feet to get sore quicker than usual.
For example, if you regularly do workouts at the gym with lots of cardio, you might want a pair of shoes that has an ample cushion and good overall support while serious weight lifter needs a pair of solid shoes with secure grounding and a flat base that you can stand and lift up the weights (God forbid you slipped up and the weight falls on you), and avoiding unnecessary pressure to the legs. Regular runners, on the other hand, will benefit a pair of running shoes (good tip, these shoes will also work wonderfully for outdoor running as well).
One of the top running shoes that if you want to know which brand is recommended by fitness enthusiasts, this would be it. ASICS Women’s Gel-Nimbus 18 Running Shoe features a low-top arch and mesh fabric on the outside with flytefoam midsole, and gel tech from the rear to front to create a comfortable and nimble shoe (I guess that’s where the Nimbus came from).
The multi-directional outer mesh is combined with an ASICS FluidFit upper technology to stretch and adapt with your foot accordingly for total comfort, a glove-like fit, and improving aerodynamic airflow.
The shoe able to handle even fast running motion and able to counter the bounce back in every step while running, as well as excellent shock absorption (a key point to consider if you’re looking specifically for a good running shoe).
For overall performance, ASICS Women’s Gel-Nimbus 18 Running Shoe is a seamless shoe that nails everything essential.
PUMA Women’s Tazon 5 Cross-Training Shoe is a big hit for women looking for a good shoe with multiple benefits. At a reasonable price point, Tazon 5 is perfect for beginners to fitness enthusiasts that want a good pair that can handle all kinds of workout they’re doing.
The shoe features leather and synthetic upper (with perforated detailing for breathability), with rubber soles – a good material feature if you’re looking for a shoe that lasts. A midfoot saddle for a maximum fit and comforts, with TPU shank for increased stability. And we especially love the EcoOrthoLite sock-liner to regulate the temperature inside the shoes so your feet stay cool while it gets heated during long runs.
The downside is this shoe runs down rather quickly especially if you regularly have long and/or high intensity walks – taking good care of these shoes is essential so they can stay in tip-top shape.
Keep in mind that while this shoe is definitely cushy, you might want to purchase a half size large than yours as it runs a bit small.
One of the most sought after cross-trainer shoe from Adidas, the Performance Men’s Powerlift.3 is perfect for anyone that’s regularly strength training and/or have active walks throughout the day. Personally, I recommend this shoe as perfect for an average person that regularly works out.
The model offers a wider sole and high-density wedge midsole to spread out the pressure to help you lift better with increasing stability point, which in turn put less strain on the legs. One user even commented that if you’re looking for a shoe that can improve your performance, this one is perfect; the stability feature is quite significant that it makes a difference in your posture and the pressure around your body while doing the routine.
Still, despite such high features, these shoes are lightweight, and you can walk around no problem. Come with a mesh collar on the outside for maximum breathability and velcro fastening for easy wear. And the price point is affordable too.
The Glycerin 15 is one brilliant running shoe that gives you a soft ride and comfort surrounding the feet while your feet steps on while running. Come in 13 different colors, you’re bound to find one pair that fits with your personality.
The downside is the lace is a bit long and slinky, and it’s best for you to get a size up as it runs small.
This shoe is not just a sneaker; it works so much more than that. Reebok Men’s Crossfit Nano 8.0 Flexweave Sneaker is what you need if you’re looking for a pair that has a strong base while enabling you to move around dynamically.
The low-cut shoe features a wide toe box that provides additional comfort, with minimal drop outsole to secure your footing in place. The NanoWeave upper sole conforms to the outer line of your feet to provide good fit as well as excellent airflow for breathability.
This shoe is a beast in our opinion.
A shoe that has nearly 30 colors in their collection that really surprises us. But Nike Men’s Metcon 2 is the best in its own right. The upgraded version of the shoe is more durable and definitely comfortable to wear as well.
The heel feels harder than before to provide ample stability and secure footing, with a heel clip to protect the shoe heel from separating if you’re doing certain workouts such as pushups or plank. Medium to wide toe box is good enough to provide the room for the little fingers (and beneficial for lifting workouts as well). The material used to make this shoe all around is durable and strong enough to handle all the abuse you put for a good workout.
As with other models reviewed previously, Nike Men’s Metcon 2 also runs a bit small so it’s best to get them a size bigger than yours.
