Best Hemp Oil for Hair

Despite all the naysayers about the use of hemp oil in beauty, more first-timers acknowledge the health benefits of the oil that it does work. In this case, hemp oil that is used mainly for hair care, the oil treats and restores the health of the hair, comparable with other oils in the market. Rest assured, the hemp oil is making its way to be the ‘it’ oils like olive and coconut, and we reviewed note-worthy products containing the oil as the main ingredient that you can use for your hair.

What about hemp oil?

A little bit of background reading: hemp oil is extracted from the seeds of a hemp plant (and yes, the plant looks a lot like a marijuana plant, except the oil have only traces of chemical compound that makes you ‘high’ that are otherwise abundant in marijuana) and it’s used commonly for a multitude of uses, mainly topical ointments (for traditional remedies), capsules for supplements, tincture, or even in skin and hair care products.

The oil contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids along with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that are beneficial to our health. Particularly for hair, hemp oil is reviewed to be wonderfully beneficial to deeply moisturize the hair, stimulating hair growth, as well as strengthening them from within. And it’s suitable for all hair types as well.

Here are some of the hair care products that use hemp oil as one of their main ingredient that works for various hair issues, as well as maintaining the overall health of your hair.

1. The Wonder Seed Hemp Shampoo, All Natural Organic Formula,Vegan Friendly Blend

The Wonder Seed Hemp Shampoo, All Natural Organic Formula,Vegan Friendly Blend

Love the bottle, love the smell. The Wonder Seed Hemp Shampoo gently cleanses your hair while nourishing the scalp at the same time to repair and deliver a healthy shine to each tress. Especially the main ingredient of organic hemp seed oil that soothes any irritation your hair has (itchy scalp, dandruff, and even psoriasis and eczema).

The formula works for all hair types without feeling greasy and the sweet orange fragrance is so refreshing that we think it’s a joy to use every morning. In our opinion, the formula is mild compared to other shampoos in the same range but it works well as it’s supposed to do. Plus, the shampoo is gentle enough for the whole family that this indirectly saves you money in the long run.

Nothing but good stuff from this product; we rate it as the number one in our review list. The only downside is the packaging is rather small to our taste.

2. Hemp Hydrating Shampoo Liter, with Hemp Seed Oil, Color-Safe, 33.8-Ounce

Hemp Hydrating Shampoo
Liter, with Hemp Seed Oil, Color-Safe, 33.8-Ounce

Hemp Hydrating Shampoo works just as it said – immensely hydrating that for anyone that has a dry hair type, this shampoo can be a lifesaver.

The formula — hemp seed oil, amino acids, soybean, and hemp protein bonds — that work to deeply hydrate your hair from the roots without weighing each tress is a joy to use, that the result can be seen after the first wash, and it’ll last for a few days. And we love the unique hydrating formula is also safe for color-treated hair that you can use the product without any worry.

That said, the formula is a bit heavy to our taste that for normal to oily hair the scalp gets greasy a few hours after the wash – it’s best to use a tiny bit of the shampoo for best result. As for dry scalps, wash away your hair to your heart content to get that healthy and bouncy hair once again.

3. KUZA Indian Hemp Hair and Scalp Treatment, 8 oz

KUZA Indian Hemp Hair and Scalp Treatment, 8 oz

Okay, so this is not a shampoo and/or a conditioner, but rather a hair treatment that works for intensive nourishment for your hair. Don’t let the average-looking packaging deter you; KUZA Indian Hemp Hair and Scalp Treatment work well to nourish your hair and surprisingly, the result can last for a few days.

The texture of this cream is quite thick (not surprising considering the ingredient used int he formula is quite concentrated) and smells like coconut.

The formula is made especially for textured and/or coarse hair, with natural herbs and fine oils to deeply moisturize and repair the dry, rough up hair from the root to tip, including the damaged hair from long-term chemical treatment and styling. and another unique feature of this product that you notice your hair starts to grow rather quickly, which we think it’s because from the ingredient that works to stimulate natural hair growth.

Simply put, this treatment cream is an absolute must-have if your hair is severely damaged to put life in it back again (and it’s an affordable price too).

Hempz Sweet Pineapple and Honey Melon come with pineapple extract to condition and revitalize the hair, while honey melon to repair and hydrate each tress, as well as a miracle oil blend to soften and volumize the hair.

5. Marrakesh Hair Care Argan and Hemp Styling Oil, 2 Ounce

Marrakesh Hair Care Argan and Hemp Styling Oil, 2 Ounce

One of the products favored for anyone that loves hemp seed oil, Marrakesh Hair Care Argan and Hemp Styling Oil gives you a sleek finish to the hair without weighing it down, while nourishing each tress at the same time.

The formula is quite concentrated that only a drop or two is enough for medium-length hair (you can always add more later) that it can last for a long time. Each drop protects your hair from frizziness and in a way, your hair stays ‘well-behaved’ for all day. And yes, this styling oil also works well for color-treated hair.

6. Pomade for Hair Growth, Organic Pomade, Stops Itchy, Dry Scalp, and Dandruff, Enriched with Hemp Seed

Pomade for Hair Growth, Organic Pomade, Stops Itchy, Dry Scalp, and Dandruff, Enriched with Hemp Seed

This one is similar to the hair treatment cream that we reviewed previously, only this cream comes in the form of pomade that you can also use to style the hair.

The minor downside is being the pomade is quite concentrated, it’ is super oily (in fact, more oily than Marrakesh Hair Care Argan and Hemp Styling Oil reviewed right here). That you need to take a tiny bit of the product to work, without weighing your hair down. Just look at some of the lists of ingredients below.

The formula is enriched with a blend of natural oils such as organic coconut oil, organic olive oil, organic sunflower oil, organic hemp seed oil, an essential oil such as lavender, rosemary, peppermint, and vitamin E so yes, it is oily. The good news is the formula is all organic with none of petrolatum, sulfates, and parabens.

At a glance, the pomade smells pleasant without cloying and it holds up style well, though in our opinion lasts only a few hours (they did mention it was a light pomade). Other benefits such as the nourishing scalp relieves of itchiness and soothes skin issues such as psoriasis and eczema, we say this pomade works well to do that – your hair will look noticeably healthy after a couple of uses. In a way, this pomade works more as a hair treatment cream than a pomade, which we consider it’s still okay.

To put it simply, this pomade works to treat your hair, reasonably priced, and a little goes a long way.
