Thanks to the continuously evolving technology, a blender that blends quietly also exist in the market that it blends your favorite smoothie a breeze, while not disturbing others while doing the deed. to blend as quiet as possible so it won’t disturb others with loud, whirring noise, especially if the environment requires you to keep quiet as much as possible, namely in the wee hours of the morning, at a dormitory, or perhaps in a room next to a sleeping baby.
What to look for for a quiet blender
Well, for a start, it needs to be quiet.
As motors underneath the blender are inherently loud, manufacturers worked hard to reduce the noise emitted as much as possible by using insulation material to dampen and absorb the noise (usually made from rubber), or perhaps by using additional cover to seal in the motor to reduce the amount of noise emitted.
of course, in choosing a blender, you need to consider the motor power included in the blender – this factor also plays a role in how loud the blenders would be. As a general guide, a good blender should have 300-600W of power for the machine to blend your food effortlessly.
It’s also a good idea to look through the materials that are used for making the particular blender. A stainless steel blade is the most common and decent material that will breeze through chopping and blending food, while the outer shell is preferably made from hardened ABS plastic that is sturdy and made to last.
Keep in mind for the parts in the blender can be replaced with original parts from the manufacturer, or you need to buy the whole package again if the machine stops working. For that, look into a warranty that is included in the purchase, as there’s always a chance that some of the parts may not work as it should be.
Which Quiet Blender Is Best For Your Needs?
1. Breville BBL605XL Hemisphere Control Blender
The sturdy-looking blender right here tops the list in our review with its almost perfect performance and features for your blending needs, while being quiet at it.
Breville BBL605XL Hemisphere comes included with ice crushing and making smoothie settings, have five different speeds, a preset mode, and a control pad with an LCD timer display. And of course, a clear glass jar so you can everything that’s going on with the food.
Everything is this blender is easy to read and use, that you can use the machine straight out of the box to blend pretty much anything (food, that is). We test it out and blend a couple of fruits to make a simple smoothie and the result indeed coming out well; smooth texture with no bits left behind in the concoction. We think the smooth texture coming out is due to the round concave design at the bottom of the jar (instead of a flat base) to create a chunk-free blending consistently.
We agree, the price can be steep for some but considering the quality, we think this blender is great option for you to consider, especially with the concave design feature for a smooth blending, apart from the usual feature of a blender such as the glass jar that’s easy to place, no assembly needed, as well as being dishwasher safe.
2. Jamba Appliances Quiet Shield Blender with 32 oz & Personal Single Serve 20 oz Jars
One word that comes to mind when we look and review Jamba Appliances Quiet Shield Blender – it’s powerful.
A blender that’s manufactured by Jamba Juice smoothie store, they’re offering blenders and other juicing products that the quality surprisingly similar with other long-standing brands available in the market.
At a glance, we love the feature of the big enclosure to reduce the noise further emitted from the motors (at 1.6 horsepower) that not only superb in making smoothies, but also other types of food that you need, with it’s variable speed control dial that you can use to adjust the blending speed, so you don’t over-blend the food.
For such high power, does the blender work quietly? In our opinion, yes. The blender works quiet and well that we think it’s due to the big enclosure provided. If the enclosure is not in use, the motor sound is a bit loud but comparatively, not as loud as regular blenders that we used to have.
The only downside that you need to consider is this model does not offer the same versatility as Vitamix but for a decent blending work, we say that Jamba is more than enough. The other gripe is users think that 32oz jar is small compared to other brands that if you’re regularly using a blender to make a batch of cooking, this can be a time-consuming routine. Perhaps this blender is suitable for making quick recipes or for anyone living in small spaces such as dormitory?
This set comes with a 32 oz blending jar and a personal size 20 oz jar that is perfect for making smoothies and juices on the go. And Jamba is offering a five-year limited warranty (pretty much more than other brands we reviewed here) which speaks a lot in terms of quality.
3. Hamilton Beach Professional 1500W Quiet Shield Blender with 32 oz BPA-free Jar
Hamilton Beach Professional is looking similar with Jamba Juice blender previously, but with its own features: the 32oz shatterproof blender provides power at 1500W and operated with a variable speed dial in four program settings and 10-speed settings for total control.
Particularly for the program setting, we love that it takes out the guesswork and all you need to do is tap away the program you need and wait for the blender to finish as it stops automatically and you can always continue if necessary.
In our opinion, this model is certainly powerful in its own way – you can pretty much blend just about anything. And added with a couple of accessories such as a tamper (included together) that you can make nut butter, soups, or even crushed ice effortlessly. The enclosure itself can be used as a serving pitcher, making the whole routine easy peasy.
The only downside is compared with other blenders we reviewed here, Hamilton Beach Professional is kind of loud that it’s in danger of getting itself kicked out from the category ‘quiet blenders.’ At this moment, we don’t know if it’s a minor defect from our own or the blender itself is loud, even with the enclosure provided.
Hamilton Beach Professional offers a five-year limited warranty just like Jamba blender and no doubt, this machine is a real deal.
4. Cuisinart CBT-1500W Hurricane Blender, White
One of the most coveted high speed, quiet blender, Cuisinart Hurricane Blender is one of the gems that you’d love to have in your kitchen, for blending any types of ingredients, thank its 1500W power.
Despite the high power and peak performance, this model is relatively quiet that it makes a pleasant experience using it.
Whip up some smoothie, crush some ice, make some nut milk or butter, or perhaps make a soup, you can do anything with this blender and it comes out consistently smooth every time – the downside is even with such high power you won’t be able to blend ingredients to make a hot soup, instead place the hot ingredients to blend, and let it cool down for a few minutes to avoid breakage.
The display comes in the form of electronic touchpad controls: six different settings and an LCD display with a 3-minute countdown timer, with two different speeds as well as two smoothies and ice crush preset programs. Limited, we agree, but it’s enough for a decent blending for home use. In fact, the blending jar is quite large (at 60 oz, made from Tritan) that it makes blending routine for a large batch easily.
A unique feature is this model comes with the automatic shutdown that it turns off if the sensor is overheated. You need to cool the blender down for 15 minutes before getting it to work again.
Cuisinart Hurricane Blender comes with a limited three-year warranty and a recipe book is included in the package (a bonus point, considering how limited the buttons and controls of this blender).
5. Blendtec Professional 800 Blender with WildSide+ Jar (90 oz)
Blendtec is one of the brands that you can consider if you’re looking for high-quality blenders – the name has been a staple for the particular product (I mean, just look at the name) and in fact, it’s widely used in smoothie stores around the world.
Especially for the Blendtec Pro 800, this blender is crowned as the “World’s Quietest Blender” because it’s proven to be 80% quieter than other regular blenders in the market. Using the same Stealth noise dampening tech that offers a super reduced noise but with unparalleled performance for both home and commercial use, with 1800W horsepower.
The model comes with a digital touchscreen slider control with six pre-programmed setting and 11 different speed for ultimate control, making blending anything is possible. Like the previous blender we reviewed, this one also comes with a sealed enclosure and sound dampening design at the motor base to reduce the noise further.
A unique feature of this blender is the blade is significantly longer (four inches) for better blending power, as well as the patented Wildside jar design to blend the ingredients effectively and smoothly.
And the best part yet? Blendtec Pro 800 offers a 10-year full warranty and this really shows that this blender is made to last. Sure, the price is quite high for a lot of us but divides it by 10, and you’ll see the price is worthwhile.
6. Vitamix 36019 36019-1 Vita-Mix Quiet One Blender 48 oz, Black
Vitamix is not a stranger when it comes to making high-quality blenders, and this particular model Vitamix Quiet One is the one that you can consider if you’re looking for a good, well-built and reliable quiet blender. In act, we consider this model as a commercial blender creates for home use.
A unique feature of this blender is the enclosure is held in place with magnets for a thorough sound seal and the performance is certainly made for heavy duty use (it’s a commercial blender, after all).
With it’s 48oz Tritan jar, this model feature six main program buttons, 34 optimized programs, and impressive 93 speeds to blend anything effectively (not only smoothies, but also gravies, sauces, butter, and frappes).
The downside is this model is a heavy beast. Weighing at 27 pounds makes this blender’s portability factor out of question and meant to stay in one place at a counter. But hey, it’s no big deal if you’re planning to use it in the kitchen, right?
Another con factor is the price is a bit high compared with other Vitamix blenders because it belongs in their commercial range, as well as it carries a shorter 3-year warranty.
